I have been always honest with my view on all topics in my articles. All political party leaders are corrupted. Some of you may argue, there may be someone who may be honest. Well, I haven't heard of anyone who is involved in politics and is honest 100%. So far I understand, there are good sides of politics in the world, but if I am talking about Bangladeshi politics, if you want to earn money without any effort and without any skill, join the politics. Only skill set you need is to know how to use the path of corruption.
All the politial party leaders are corrupted and they use their grass root activists to exercise the corruption. Therefore the grass root activists are also become part of the corruption and start learning how to use the corruption to gain in financially. Now, if I only focus on today's topic then by closing my eyes I can tell that Khaleda Zia has used lots of corrupt ways to gain politically and financially. Not only her, she has used power while she was in power, her other family members also gained from her position.
Overall, she is a corrupt person - no doubt about that. Now, law and order, sentencing for punishments are controlled by government. Am I talking about a driving offence? off course not. Government does not have any interest on those sorts of cases. But rulling parties are always controlling what will be the sentence and judgement for any cases from which they might be benefited or loose something. In this situation, if Khaleda Zia remains in jail, Awami league is not directly benefited, rather their indirect benefit is that BNP remains very weak as a political party without any significant direction or strength to protest against rulling party and that is the main benefit of Awami league.
Now, only option at this point what I can see from BNP's side to keep the party alive, they will try to make some sort of deal with Awami league to let Kaleda Zia out on bail and promise not to create any obstacle for dictator Sheikh Hasina. You may argue, why don't Sheikh Hasina completely demolish BNP? Well, Sheikh Hasina wants to keep the democracy image alive for her political gain and for this BNP, no matter how weak that can be, is a great tool to meet the criteria. So Sheikh Hasina wants to keep the weak opposion so that at least international community knows there is a opposition active within the country's politics.
In my opinion, Khaleda Zia is a criminal, she must not be realeased. But if she were out on bail, that could boost the opposition in the political arena. I believe, Sheikh Hasina also does not want her out, but may make some kind of deal to make her leave the country. But whatever may be the gain, a criminal must be punished before released for whatever he or she has done wrong.
